Steampunk-horror themed 32mm tabletop skirmish battles set on an alternate history earth

The World of Malifaux combines the Victorian, Gothic and Steampunk horror genres with the gunslinging action of the wild west. Set on an alternate earth at the dawn of the 20th Century, the world is beset from all sides by dangerous monsters, man-machine hybrids, ruthless outlaws, scheming politicians and magical forces beyond comprehension. These forces are split into their own factions, each with wildly different beliefs and methods. From the structured and brutal law enforcement of the Guild to the demonic nightmares bestowed by the terrifying Neverborn, each faction has a role to play in the unraveling story.

THE MINIATURES

Malifaux features highly detailed plastic 32mm scale miniatures. As the amount of miniatures fielded in the average game of Malifaux is quite low, there is a big emphasis on unique poses full of character and individuality.

All miniatures are sold in either crew box sets of around 4 - 6 models each, or individually as standalone characters or units.

A wide variety of scenery and accessories are available in a wide range of materials from manufactures like Plast Craft Games and Micro Art Studio.

THE GAMEPLAY

Malifaux is a Skirmish scale tabletop wargame where two players assemble crews and do battle across a scenic tabletop.

Each crew will generally comprise of around 4 - 6 models across a 3x3' area. Ranges, skills and movement are free-form and determined by the individual statistics of a model outlined on accompanying profile cards.

The success or failure of actions are determined not by the random roll of a dice, but by a standard set of playing cards or the use of a special Fate Deck.
